Technology and Access to Good Training - the Vast Beyond

I have loved computers for a long time. I come from the generation of 'real' education where we used encyclopedias ( anyone see those dusty things at a garage sale or stored God forbid in your new classroom?). I recall my university having ONE Mac on our floor and I was one of the few using it while the rest typed away on their electric typewriters. I was hooked. My dilemma was that I could never find anyone or any class that helped me with my questions of how-to.

Going into and out of the education system, I really missed a lot of access to training but I made many attempts to continue my own professional development. I am now usually the 'expert' in any school I go to, and yes that is a bit of a reflection of how far behind we are in the classrooms. Maybe it has to do with my geography and size of schools. I am by no means an expert, but I have a passion to learn and to try.

Thankfully, our www launched the youtube on-line university of how to and I had access to answers to my questions the way I learn best...watching and listening. ( yes a verbal-linguistic and tactile learner!)

I spent years also taking specialists and learned a lot, but still have many little handicaps that are really small hindrances ( like how to link video or shortcuts) . Well, for the first time in years I have hit a course that is bridging that gap.

I will attempt to share the greatest AHA moments for me...and there have been so many. Maybe someone out there is like me, or maybe even having more difficulty and can benefit from this blog.

Thank you to Anthony for your patience and wisdom. If I could only email him to death I would learn so much more! ( wink)
